Operating System: Windows XP
Spent 4 hours with Norton tech. Reloaded Norton 360, complete reboot, still can not run live update. Continues to fail.
Hi. Does 360 work otherwise ? Was the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool used, or the Norton Removal Tool ?
Maybe try the NRRT again to see if you can get a clean reinstall. http://www.norton.com/nrnr
If used, please read the Before you begin note, run Live Update after until no more are found, and then reboot.
Let us know if that helps.
I am having the same problem. I use windows 7 and my live updates aren't working even after I did a clean install with the removal tool.
Last Wednesday I talked with a Norton Tech, after 4-1/2 hours he was able to get Norton re-installed on my computer and working. He downloaded a newer version of the Norton Engine. It wasn't the same as last time. This newer version had a patch that he said was required to fix the problem. Well the newer version worked. Norton is up and running and I can do updates now.
Newbie1: You might have to talk to a Norton Tech and have him download this newer version with the patch to get Norton working. Hope it works for you too!
