Limit on using Internet conmection on parental control

Just want to ask. The time limit of using the internet on a device wherein you set for parental control. Let say couple of hours, base on the article, it depends on how they used the device, if there an open application at the background, even they are not using it, its counted as network used bandwidth. So my understanding is, its not really the time limit but somehow theres likes data allocated on that device. It desnt make any sense if you set it to an specific hour but it reached the time limit as early because of some running application not even used. It should reached the exact time limit you set regardless what situation is.

Re: Limit on using Internet conmection on parental control

Hello RayLab Parental controls on Core aren't bandwidth in limitations but rather specific to the person and whether or not devices assigned under that person are singular or multiple. If a specific "person" is switching between multiple devices the countdown will happen at a faster pace due to usage. Time based vice bandwidth.  As long as they have an active connection to the Core on a specific device network the time settings begin allowing access and deny access when that time limit is reached divided between those devices. Is this the article you referenced? https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v118380548_core_en_us

Re: Limit on using Internet conmection on parental control

Hello again. Thanks for the link. As we posted earlier as long as there is an active connection the time counts down. Its not bandwidth per se but related to the device being active (active internet connection). Best solution is either increase the time limit or turn off wifi when the device(s) aren't being used.

Cheers
