Switch not showing up

I have recently updated my home network with new wiring and while doing so, added some switches to my home network. When I connect these switches to the Norton Core, the App does not show them as connected to the Core, nor does Core recognize all Devices that are connected to a switch. For example, it detects a PC and NAS attached to one switch, but not the Printer that is connected to the very same switch. And as the App does not show which IP the Switch was assigned, I am unable to manage it. However, if I connect the switch to my modem instead of my Norton Core, every device is being recognized and I can even manage the switch with its assigned IP.

Re: Switch not showing up

Hello denegare  What manufacturer and model switches are you using? Did your Core update firmware to version 226 overnight?

Cheers

Re: Switch not showing up

My Core updated to 226, and as for switches: I have multiple Netgear GS808E.

Re: Switch not showing up

denegare Are these Netgear GS808E units all in AP mode connected to the Core? Also try restarting ALL those devices AND Core at the same time for a network refresh. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v123817609_EndUserProfile_en_us

Re: Switch not showing up

I'm not quite sure what you mean by AP mode. They're LAN Switches, and not issuing IP Addresses themselves nor do they create a subnet. I tried restarting them already multiple times and for the time being, I have them connected to my Modem rather than the Core because it is really annoying that I can't print because the printer isn't detected on the network.

Re: Switch not showing up

Beginning with setting up the 1st switch follow this guideline article. The Core Ethernet cable should go to LAN port #8 on the first switch. Specific ports are being used for uplinks so I think configuration on your network is the issue with them. https://kb.netgear.com/000037835/What-is-link-aggregation-and-how-do-I-set-it-up-on-my-GS808E-Nighthawk-S8000-Gaming-Streaming-Switch

Re: Switch not showing up

It's not a problem with my network - the Switches are set up properly. Two devices that are connected to one Switch even show up in the Core App and have access to the Internet, just some devices that are connected are missing and the Switches itself aren't listed as connected, even though each Switch is supposed to have an IP-Address through which it can be configured. And if I just plug the cable that comes from the switch into the modem instead of the Core everything works perfectly fine - all devices are discovered, all devices can access the internet and the switch gets assigned an IP.
