Cannot activate subscription after reinstalling norton 360

Hi Norton

I Cannot activate subscription after reinstalling my norton 360.

There is a sever error:We're working on an issue that prevents us from completing your request. Please try again later.(-2016)

I try to uninstall and reinstall get the same error again and again.

Please help me with it.

If there is an issue contacting the subscription servers, you can keep trying or wait until the next day and try again. If you still see a problem after 24 hours, post back and we can dig deeper.

You can also check to see if there are any known issues with Norton Services at    https://status.norton.com

After 2 days I try to re install using NRnR tool , Subscription Status  become Active. 

I am able to live update and do scans etc..

BUT when I go “help center” My Norton wanted to login after keying my userID and password  but I still get the same subscription error message again. Unable login from there.

Subscription​

Message: "Server error: We're working to resolve an issue that prevents us from completing your request..."

Keep trying to re install using NRnR tool for the past week still get back the same issue 

Please help me with this problem once again.

As long as you Subscription Status shows Active, and your Norton icon in the system tray shows a green check mark, you Norton product is working correctly.

If you are using the NRNR tool, it is installing a pre activated copy of your Norton product, so you do not have to do it manually.

What link are you using in the Help Center when you see the server error?

The link i click on is "My Norton" in the help center to login, cannot login  and I see  the server error. 

Yes, Subscription Status shows Active on the homepage of the product, and  my Norton icon in the system tray shows a green check mark,

So I should just ignore  the error???  Since you mention that the Norton product is working correctly.

Unless you need to access your Norton Account, you can ignore this problem for now.

Try logging into your Norton Account at   https://my.norton.com  to see if you still see the same problem.

Thank you so much for the reply and the help.

I able to login in Norton Account at   https://my.norton.com and I see:

Under My Devices is 0 device .

But  when I check Under My Subscriptions  is 1 license(s) used.

So I can just ignore this sever problem for now ??? Since the product is working correctly as at now.

Hello

Please make sure that Remote Management is turned on in Settings>Administrative Settings> Remote Management. Toggle the switch to ON. Click on Apply and then close the program.

As long as the My Subscriptions page is correct, you can ignore the server issue as long as you have that green check mark.

Check on the setting floplot notes above. This may also fix the server issue.

Thanks for the reply peter web and floplot.

I tried to follow flopot settings notes But I cannot turn on the  Remote Management as I cannot login to "My Norton" at "Help center" or "Manage my protection".  

I can only log in into my norton account   at   https://my.norton.com 

Therefore I am still having the server issue But Scans and live update etc are working fine for now  with that green check mark.

Hence I will ignore the server error issue for the time being.

The remote management setting is on your computer in the Norton Security product. As floplot noted, open your Norton product then click on Settings - Administrative Settings, and scroll down to the Remote Management setting. Be sure that is turned on.
