Norton's disappeared

On one laptop the wee icon down the bottom right has gone and it won't open from the desktop icon either.

What to do?

It was fine this morning. Have rebooted several times to no avail...

Thanks,

David

Re: Norton's disappeared

Just curious if everything done in your last thread Services (Correct) Devices (Incorrect) may have messed up the install.

Is Norton still shown as installed in Programs and Features?

As   @peterweb  suggested a reinstall may be necessary. I would suggest, running NRnRT  (using the Advanced Remove Only), and then reinstalling from your Norton Account  may be the answer.

This is on a different device! Trying NRnRT just now.

Sigh.

Re: Norton's disappeared

That appeared to do the trick.

Why would it disappear like that???

(when I feel brave I might repeat on my primary laptop as per @peterweb see if that sorts out the moronic My Devices issue)

Thanks,

David

Some of us call it magic - others would say only a computer could foul things up that bad. Just glad you got it sorted.

Re: Norton's disappeared

Indeed.

By the way, with the Remove and Reinstall tool when the laptop rebooted post removal there was a horrendous pause between it booting and the Reinstall bit kicking into life. I was about to declare it an epic fail then suddenly it re-appeared and off it went on its reinstall journey. Maybe something should pop up a little earlier to let you know it's thinking about it.

Cheers,

David

David, that's software for you ! Microsoft does the same to me, when it's updating.

Just when you think it's frozen, it jumps back into life.  Best wait, and let the program do its thing !
