[Windows 10] Early launch malware protection removed after a liveupdate patch

I know windows 8 and windows 10 have a extended protection module named "early launch malware protection" can be seen under Antivirus GUI in settings. I have Norton Internet Security (22.15.0.88) minutes ago I got a liveupdate patch which asks me to apply now or apply later etc, I applied the update and now that protection feature is gone. Can I ask why? as far as I know that was a somewhat important feature scans the drivers at boot, why it is removed? I have windows 10 april update 1803.

I also like to mention that there was no entry in update details, just some web definitions,SDS 64,whitelist and a SONAR definition.

You guys should inform your users if you remove a feature in your products, otherwise some people can point fingers at you because its basically shady.

Re: [Windows 10] Early launch malware protection removed after a liveupdate patch

Hello GethPrime

Your computer checks for updates every hour when your computer so they don't have to appear with a version change. Did you restart your computer a few times and run Live Update a few times to see if anything else comes through?

This new patch was optimized for Window 10's Fall update. Perhaps Windows is planning to make a change involving that product feature.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit NSBU 22.17.0.183 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Re: [Windows 10] Early launch malware protection removed after a liveupdate patch

After rebooting a second time following the installation of 22.15, I checked Norton History and the Early Launch Anti-malware Scan did run as the PC was starting.  So, while the setting may no longer be there, the functionality appears to still be working.
