Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

Hello Shane. I can't find any setting within the product nor within account settings online to disable this feature. Clicking View Alerts will require an account login, which I am sure you are already aware of. Then within your account under "My Norton" icons appear which will allow only to "protect more info". Evidently this feature is tied to LifeLock and cannot be disabled. A subscription that doesn't include this feature seems to be the alternative.

Cheers

Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

I too have been trying to find information on this feature. Looking at the Norton 360 web site, it appears it is a report you can request. From the footnotes for the feature...

6 Symantec Corp. (2018) Internet Security Threat Report

There is nothing running on your computer. As SoulAsylum notes you would sign into your Lifelock Account to see the details.  When you do sign in, maybe there is an option to stop the monitor, but why would you want to when you are paying for it?

Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

Hi SoulAsylum,

Can't find it either.  Since I have a "special offer" free upgrade which does not include lifelock.

Thanks for your input,

Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

Hi Peterweb,

Actually I'm not paying for it, since it was part of a special offer.  I was trying to disable it because its of no use to me.  1. They want you to enter credit card numbers, bank account numbers, address, phone numbers, insurance, mother's maiden name, and email addresses.  Even if it is Norton, I hesitate to put all that in one place.  2.  As you no doubt know many major companies have been hacked, so I'm sure some of my info would be on the dark web, about which I can do nothing.  Experian for example.  So all this tool would tell me is what I already assume.

Thanks for your feedback,

Shane

Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

You might still be paying a little bit for the feature as the subscription prices are higher than we are paying for the older Norton Security products.

Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

Although I too don't have Life Lock there are notifications IN APP regarding possible dark web activity. I believe this is what customers are referring to when they don't have life lock separately or as part of their subscription. No way is available to disable the scare tactics popping up which are embedded into the product, to entice users into getting Life Lock if they do not have it.

Re: How to disable Dark Web Monitor?

Finally got access to the new 360 product. As I noted above, there is nothing running on your system. When you click on View Alerts, you are taken to a web page where you can choose which information you wish to have monitored. As long as you do not add any information, your information is not being monitored.
