Norton 360 Crashes on Restore Folders

Case # 38765987: Norton 360 on Windows 10 crashes while trying to restore selected folders from my backup disk (not Cloud Storage) to my data disk. Three technicians could not resolve this problem. Restoring to a new location did not work. Restoring only a few folders at a time sometimes worked. I am still unable to restore a large number of specific folders with Norton 360. Error message is: "Norton
Security has stopped working", "Close program".

Re: Norton 360 Crashes on Restore Folders

What kind of disk are you using for your backup?

What are you meaning by a large number of specific folders with Norton 360? Are there specific file types in those folders?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Norton 360 Crashes on Restore Folders

I am trying to do a partial restore from a WD 4TB hard disk drive E: to a WD 4TB hard disk drive D:. I don't need to do a full restore that would include drive C: and I only need to restore some (635) folders, but not all (1243), to D:. I am not selecting any specific file types, just specific folders. Why do you ask?

Re: Norton 360 Crashes on Restore Folders

I was asking about file types, in case there might be some issue with a specific file type. Compressed files can cause issues sometimes.

Are these internal or external drives? USB?

Can you find any information in your 360 history for the Backups that might give more details on what is causing the app to crash?

Re: Norton 360 Crashes on Restore Folders

The few compressed files restored ok. The HDDs are internal SATA. The problem may relate to the number or size of files in the selected folders. One technician thought that the interrupts were from Windows 10 not Norton 360.

Re: Norton 360 Crashes on Restore Folders

P.S. The Security History shows 2 medium failures that were probably related to a different backup to a disconnected external disk, and 1 delete file failure. However, I think none of these failures relate to my current restore crashes because the folders I am trying to restore have been static since the first backup which was successful.
