Chris Hoffman (How to Geek 5 July 2017) and Norton Browser Extension for Edge

Is Chris Hoffman right in his 5 July 2017 How to Geek argument against installing the browser extensions offered by Norton and other antivirus software providers?  When I use Microsoft Edge, I always see messages from Norton urging me to install its browser extension.  If Hoffman is right, is there a way to stop Norton from constantly bombarding me with such requests?

The Hoffman article is found at the following URL:

Re: Chris Hoffman (How to Geek 5 July 2017) and Norton Browser Extension for Edge

Maybe look to a more recent review. That is 2 years old, and Edge and Norton have changed many times since then.

That article suggests the early extensions were rebranded toolbars. The browsers no longer allow any toolbars, so the whole method of providing features through extensions has been reworked for enhanced security.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
