sometimes 2 instances of N360 in SystemTray on startup (NEEDS PERM FIX, not bandaids)

Finally, after FOUR MONTHS of my constant Reports and attempts to get it escalated - the NSW issue (case: 40785398) I reported has indeed BEEN FIXED!!! But you are NOW PLAYING THE SAME BLAME AND EXCUSE MAKING GAMES WITH THIS ISSUE....

This is the 3rd time in 4 weeks that I had reported DUPLICATE N360 IN SYSTEM-TRAY (case: 41148777). A simple reboot MAY/OFTEN clear it up (but, one time, one of the RemoteConnect Techs had to do a deep dive into the bowels of the N360 startup options/settings and items needed cleaning (my main complaint here is the far too frequent QUIRKY multi-instances of N360 showing up in Tray that can often be cleared/corrected by a RESTART) BUT IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I KEEP OFFERING A FIX THAT YOU KEEP IGNORING!!!! And I'm in the middle of too many things to take the time to reboot just for this - which, again, SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Listen, I'm getting REALLY TIRED of playing games w/ Support for this recurring issue. Just spent FOUR MONTHS of wasting my time/effort w/ NortonSafeWeb problem (kept trying to PASS THE BUCK, blame the Browser, Blame my machine, pretty much BLAME ME) that they finally escalated to Engineers & I was proven Right on/with and they finally got around to FIXING (rather than band-aiding, result is the current 3.11.0.21 NSW update/rollout - so I know what I'm talking about! So, CAN WE AVOID PLAYING GAMES FOR ANOTHER FOUR MONTHS ON THIS ISSUE?!?!

NORTON ENGINEERS NOTE (case: 41148777):
HOW ABOUT A SERIOUS ADDRESSING OF THIS ISSUE I KEEP REPORTING THAT NEVER GETS ADDRESSED/ESCALATED?!?! PERMA-FIX for N360 DUPLICATE ENTRIES start/run in SysTray! N360 should check if already running & avoid starting duplicate of itself (check if running, if so, suppress/cancel start of what would become an additional instance of the program running)!!! VERY SIMPLE PERMANENT FIX, BUT FRONT-LINE SUPPORT CONTINUES TO REFUSE TO ESCALATE/ADDRESS no matter how many times I report it.

ESCALATE THIS AND LET'S GET IT FIXED, rather than wasting time dealing w/ it every time it re-occurs! I am tired of having to report this same issue once every few months but sometimes on a week after week basis, over & over, & continue to repeat this response HOPING SOMEONE THAT ACTUALLY GIVES A DAMN WILL FINALLY ESCALATE AND GETS THIS TAKEN SERIOUSLY/CARE-OF!

Hello Joseph. Please check your power settings for "fast startup" being enabled. If it indeed is enabled please disable it and reboot. Windows 10 is notorious for this setting causing issues with software installs, updates, etc. In many cases disabling it corrects things.

I might also ask whether you have considered performing a clean reinstall of your Norton product using the removal tool, performing ONLY a removal, reboot then reinstall your product from your Norton account? I've personally have to do this twice since last November to correct issues. Being that there has been at least one remote session into your installation this MAY be the best option for a resolution.

Thanks, and while that may indeed work.... We all know Microsoft and Windows (SUCKS) lands up often breaking things with each forced update as they supposedly fix/improve!!  But, bottom-line, this is once again more BLAME SHIFTING rather than Norton taking steps to deal within itself and things in its own control - namely, FIXING THE ISSUE FROM WITHIN THEIR OWN SOFTWARE! I actually expect better/more from Symantec/Norton than "hoping" Microsoft quirks will stop screwing with their functionality!!

Which, again, I offered a very simple fix! But rather than FIX IT, they ignore it and just let UN-NECESSARY SUPPORT CALLS stream in. Guess it's Job Security for some?!?! This has happened on and off for SEVERAL YEARS, often only very rarely but as of late it has happened 3 out of last 4 weeks that I've booted (for various reasons)! This should be a no brainer FIX (one that does not rely on what Windows may or may not be doing now or that Microsoft may further screw up in the Future)! How about we Focus on the WHAT CAN NORTON DO to make this situation disappear PERMANENTLY (rather than band-aids, work arounds, things (again, alter other peoples' s/w and functions) rather than what I am paying Norton for?!?!?
