Help!! After a Liveupdate download, my C: Drive Now Ponts to K:...a secondary backup harddrive

I need help on reversing this, I run 2008 Norton Internet Securinty and Norton 2006 Works on my computer that has XP.  After running, LiveUpdate, my computer's main harddrive...C:...now points to my back-up hard drive K:   error message says uninstall Norton and reinstall, which I did...BUT...it didn't take out all the pieces.  AND...I am not sure which harddrive Norton was removed from.  When I use WinDoctor from the Norton Install disk, I get a couple hundred errors that are all about missing Norton files...AND ALSO...an error message about C: pointing to K, which also includes the message not to try to have the program change the drive letters automatically!!!

HELP...anybody have this problem.!!!  How do I reverse it?

For how long have NIS 2008 and Norton System works been running next to eachother?

I suggest you  run the NRT tool and reinstall everything again

Re: Help!! After a Liveupdate download, my C: Drive Now Ponts to K:...a secondary backup harddrive

They have been running next to each other for almost 5 months.  I tried doing a NRT tool uninstall but it won't take out all the pieces.  The problem is my main drive is pointing to the wrong drive, which I need to correct first to get the computer reasonably back on is feet so that I can run the uninstall tool.  currently, the computer boots up and then it immediayely gets these operating error messages because it is pointing to the wrong drive  The primary error message is a window called OSCHECK (Operating System Check).

Would anybody know the proceedure to change the computer so that my computer stops looking at my back-up drive K and starts looking back at my main drive C: I did a system restore twice and it did revert back in time to when the system was working correctly, but the same problem still exists.  All this occured after the Norton Liveupdate downloaded. Has anybody had this problem with Norton?  Would anybody have a phone number to call Norton about it?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!!!

hi Tammy - i'd recommend contacting support on this one. the problem you describe is far outside of anything that either program should do - and i'm worried that a mistake at this point could exhasterbate the sitiuation. if you haven't already, i'd strongly encourage you to backup your most criticial data.

Hi Tammy,

At the link posted by Mel, there are 3 options for Customer Support contact, including phone. Please visit the below site to choose your preferred support contact method:
