Random blocked Pop up while in #bay

Hi Guys

Unsure if this is the right place to put this question...could be a tech section Q and A.

While surfing in #bay over the last few weeks I have been getting a random blocked pop up from FF.Is this a concern and is there anyway to find out what FF is blocking safely? I mean it could be a pop up ad but I have never come across those in #bay before.NIS2011 has remained silent and there is nothing in the logs.

Thanks

Cheers Mo Windows 7 64 bit, NIS2013

Re: Random blocked Pop up while in #bay

Hi

Pop up are generally more annoying than harmful, though there are some dangerous ones, maybe Ebay has a new advertisement and Firefox is just doing it's job which is blocking pop ups, has your computer been acting weirdly at all?

Norton would remain silent because it doesn't block pop ups, if Norton starts showing alerts than you have good reason to suspect you are infected.

If you are in doubt download and run a scan with these programs, make sure you run the latest updates before scanning.

But I doubt you have you have an infection

Hope this helps

Re: Random blocked Pop up while in #bay

That's nice to hear

Make sure to continue keep up to date with the Firefox updates, if you are worried about running into pop ups in the future then I would recommend your download a add on called Adblock plus, it blocks unneeded pop ups and advertisements which loading.  You can download it here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865/

Click Add to Firefox, it will then install.  You will be asked to restart the browser, so please do so

Hope this helps :)
