Norton Utilities v15 (real-time defrag problem)

Hello, I am new on the forum and before I posts this, I search for the problem that I am having but did not find anything....

I looks like everytime I have the real-time defrag on I get Blue screen Saying Windows encounter an error and it restart...

after the computer boot up I open Norton Utilities and the option is of for all of my drive... so far I haven't got that Blue screen anymore....

I really would like to have the option on.... Can this be fix

Hi,

can you please give us some extra info:

- Which Windows OS and Service Pack do you use?

- Some infod about your HDD (size, partitions, file system (NTFS, FAT32, ...)

- What is your AV / security product

- Do you use any other real-time HDD tuner program

Can you please do this:

1. Open Control Panel

2. Go to System

3. On the left side of the window click on Adavanced system settings

4. By Startup and Recover click on Settings

5. On the new window find 'Write an event to the system log' and 'Automatically restart'

6. Eventlog writing should be turned on (marked), and auto restart should be turned off (unmark it)

7. Click OK

8. Click OK

Now please repeat the error, and we could check what process cause the BSOD as it will not reboot right after you get the error, plus a detailed report will be in the system events (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> System) as well.

If you did the test, please let us know the details, what is causing it (the error text Windows writes to you).
