18.5.0.125: Symantec Service Framework Has Stopped Working

Had a Symantec Service Framework Crash right after I Clicked on "Finish" of a Norton Full System Scan; not sure if this is related to the Full System Scan Finishing, however, the computer must have been sitting for about four-five hours' before the "Finish" button was Clicked.  After it Crashed [Stopped Responding], I Re-Started the machine and everything has been working fine since then; I did this about five hours' ago.  I have also Completed another Full System Scan within that time, in Safe Mode; the Crash happened in Normal Mode.  Please let me know if you require any more details and I'll do my best to provide them for you.

- WINDOWS7 Home Premium; 32-Bit

- Norton Internet Security

----------------------------------------------------

Edit:

This is the first time this has happened.

----------------------------------------------------

Edit:

I also have a Screen Shot of the Error Log from WINDOWS regarding this; only got half of it in the Screen Shot.

Re: 18.5.0.125: Symantec Service Framework Has Stopped Working

Is there an entry in your Security history's Norton Error Reporting section? If so, right-click on it and copy it and then paste it into a response to this thread. I can then look if this is a known issue or not.

Re: 18.5.0.125: Symantec Service Framework Has Stopped Working

I've had a look and there's no Error Report with March 22 on it.  Maybe there is, but it is not being displayed because this section of the Norton Security History is full.

Re: 18.5.0.125: Symantec Service Framework Has Stopped Working

Ok, go ahead and select any entry from that section copy it into a message here. That should be enough for me to do a little more research on the issue if it did get submitted.

Re: 18.5.0.125: Symantec Service Framework Has Stopped Working

Thanks. From my side that is the most recent submission as well :( I do see that you've had a number of issues over the past month but haven't taken the time, yet, to look into them much. This most recent issue was a crash in IE due to our privacy plug-in. The issue isn't obvious but there haven't been to many reports of this either.

Re: 18.5.0.125: Symantec Service Framework Has Stopped Working

This is the same entry as your previous one. Once I have one of your entries I can see all of the others that your machine has submitted. Your more recent issues may not have been submitted to Symantec yet and that's why you're not seeing them in the logs and I'm not seeing them on the servers. It can take up to a week for these reports to be sent to Symantec... It also depends upon how much idle time your system has had since the issue occurred.
