Starting to think I have wasted my money.

Installed the trail and set up a small backup to test it out and it completed with errors. The errors being some files were not backed up. I tried it a few times and each time a different number of files were not backed up. I have no idea why some files should fail it's just a copy and I have no issue with local backups but more frustratingly I could find no way to discover just which files had failed.

I contacted customer support and asked how I could find out which files had failed and the response was to delete my backups sets and create something completely different that didn't error and then disconnect the session without a word. Nice work Dann.

Foolishly I bought 25GB and backed up my PC and my wifes. Both have completed with some files not backed up.

So, one more try and then I will get my money back and go somewhere else.

Can someone from Norton contact me plese and explain why some files are not being backed up and which ones they are.

I really did expect more from Norton and was considering moving my security suite to them, but that won't be happening unless this is sorted.

Not even the courtesy of a response from Norton so I got a refund and will try to find something that actually backs up my files.

Norton, I suggest you stick to Anti-virus software.

Folks,

I'm going to be straight to the point. You're referencing that you're getting errors with the backup but not providing any of the specifics. If you want assistance please give me some detaisl to work with. It's like telling the mechanic you hear a clicking noise but don't tell them where.  I'll be out on travel for the next few days but will be back shortly. Once I return I'll check the forums.

Re: Starting to think I have wasted my money.

You did waste your money and so have I.

Norton has done NOTHING for me or my laptop.  I've had Norton for over a year, maybe 3 1/2 years.  It would always pop-up that Norton had performed abackup and was up to date;  virus risks taken care of; and that my laptop was "OK".

My computer was not working correctly in February.  Had to have a virus removed. Why didn't Norton stop the virus in the first place?

In August I saw the "blue screen of death" 4 times so I brought in my computer for repair.  They had to reload the operating system.  All files were gone.  Got Norton reloaded and they show no back up files.  WTF? So I downloaded the files I had saved on a flash drive and did a Norton Online Backup myself.

So last week my computer is STILL not working correctly so I brought it in AGAIN. They had to do a restore.  I get on Norton and once again, it says I have no backed up files.  What on earth am I paying for?  And the "virtual agent" can't answer a simple question.  Norton is a waste of money.

Birbs

Send me your details via private message so I can look into the online backup aspect. There are quite a few scenarios that would explain the virus issue and no files backed up. Without the specifics though there is little that can be done at the moment about it.
