Eavesdropping Protection Blocks /system32/ctfmon.exe

I do not know why. ctfmon.exe has always been running on my xp system, before formatting recently and afterwards. I had Norton scan my system many times before the format and after. I also had Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan my system; results were the same, no infected files, registry entries, or processes/services. ctfmon was not blocked under I turned on eavesdropping protection.

Whats most surprising is that when I look in Task Manager under my Admin account with my Guest account logged on, there is a cftmon.exe running under the guest account. Also, it can be terminated and does not come back.

PS. Cftmon is listed as a keylogger...

Re: Eavesdropping Protection Blocks /system32/ctfmon.exe

Ctfmon is the Microsoft process that controls Alternative User Input and the Office Language bar.

To turn it off in XP go to Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Languages>Text services and input languages>Details>Advanced>System Configuration, then tick 'Turn off advanced text services'. Restart your PC and it should be gone.

Edit: If necessary, perform the same steps in your guest account.

Well I need advanced text services to type in other languages. What is most surprising is that I can type in other languages even though Norton reports cftmon as blocked.
