'(current progress) out of 0.00bytes downloaded' during LiveUpdate

Hi,

I just noticed that my N360 was running LiveUpdate, it displayed the download progress as "(total downloaded so far) out of 0.00bytes downloaded' whilst downloading the updates, then the total download size suddenly appeared when the download finished.

The N360 version is V20.2.0.19

My system is a HP G56 106-SA (RAM boosted from 3GB to 6GB DDR3 SDRAM - around a year ago, HP approved upgrade- and the OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.

By the way, I occasionally notice that Windows Action Centre -sometimes- flags up that Norton is disabled and that no security product is active, although I have verified that N360 is fully enabled. Clicking the warnings from the Action Centre pop-up, selecting N360 followed by turn on and confirming this, corrects this issue as the warning then disappears.

Is it possible to allow N360 and Action Centre to be more compatible with each other?

Regards,

I'm not sure about the byte count during a download. If you are doing one manually there may also be something in the background that causes a bit of delay from time to time. [Only a guess on my part]

Do the action center notices display as you are booting up? If so, they may only be happening because of the order in which the various programs are being loaded.

I am going to guess that the two programs are aboutas compatible as possible while still not crossing various legal and operational lines. I haven't seen the notice so again, I'm going to guess that it isn't a serious problem or too widespread. [If I'm misspeaking I'm sure someone will correct me]

Re: '(current progress) out of 0.00bytes downloaded' during LiveUpdate

Hi Dickevans,

The action centre alert hasn't appeared in the last few days, and it doesn't appear to comprimise security, so I'm guessing it's just a 'cosmetic bug' somewhere between the two which confuses Action Centre from time to time.

In regards to the byte count bug, I don't have much running on my system during a LiveUpdate, and I'm using the LiveUpdate option from the N360 main window (under the 'security block on the interface) so I'm not sure that other software is causing that one.

is there any chance of a Symantec employee joining this discussion, they might be able to shed some light on these bugs?
