Mysterious pop-up tab.

Hello. Earlier today, on Internet explorer 8 while I was on weather.com, I noticed a mysterious pop-up tab as I clicked on 10 day forecast. The URL said cm.g.doubleclick.net and the content inside said something like "The web page could not be reached". I have pop-up blocker on and I didn't notice anything suspicious. Is there any explanation for this? Thanks!

Re: Mysterious pop-up tab.

Doubleclick is an advertising company owned by Google.  What you encountered was probably an advertisement of some kind.

Re: Mysterious pop-up tab.

Sounds like a random popup that slipped by the popup blocker.

Doubleclick is an ad service run by Google.

If the page was unreachable it just means the ad inside the popup couldn't be displayed.

Re: Mysterious pop-up tab.

Ok. Thanks for the replies.

By the way, I wanted to ask another quick question, then I'm done. This is a bit off topic, but I figured I'd just ask it here instead of makinhg a new topic. In security history, I noticed an entry that said "High Disk Read usage by: Client Server Runtime Process." Is this anything to be concerned about? Thanks!
