I am not receiving any activity from my daughter Laptop

HI:

I did install Norton Family Premier in my dahuher Laptop on Sunday abril 7th; everything was fine on the weekend; but since yesterday (Abril 8th. I am not seeig any activity in her Laptop (she has been very active!!); she tells me that her Laptop i workinfg fine with the little dog!!! but I am not seeing any activity whnen I get to the nortonfamily.online.com neither time, visited webs pages, etc.. etc... whay is this??? how can I solved it and see her activity again???

I am in México; I saw that for the moment was not able for countirs different than US, but as I mentiones this first two days all was fin.

If you log onto the laptop as your monitored child and try to visit a blocked website, does the page get blocked?

does the application must work exactly in the same way either if I logg onto IN her Laptop with her user name (Carolina) or using as myself as :Administrator;??? to vary raedy for that weekend, what else do you want me to test??

I am not sure if you had the chance to see my yesterday`s night answer (two comments below).

(I saw other message that you are working in somethings about this and you tell us that in the meantime we log-off the web monitoring activity).

Please let me know what I should do (logg-off and wait from you or check my Carolina`s Laptop on the weekend; please also let me know about having two or more users in the same equipment (kids and administrator).

Hi bsbengoa,

The reason I suggested to see if the function of blocking website works or not was trying to see if the program works at all on the PC.  If you don't have the access to the machine now, how about just check from the Norton Family account online, do you see any Web activity get logged or any indications that other functions work?

Many thanks Katie; I am not receiving any activity from the web at all; neither the timing activity is showing activity; she is telling me that she has got into Internet this days using Google Crome since she can jot get in using Internet Explorar.

I will go there and check blocked pages it on the weekend; but may have something to be giving that she is using Googe Crome or not???

Please also let me know about the users in the same equipment (she and me as an Administrator).

Hi bsbengoa,

You mentioned the child's account has Administrative rights....To avoid and limit the possibility to tamper/disable the system, please give non-administrative rights (limited or restricted) to your child’s  user account and keep the password for your Norton Online Family account away from the child.  Otherwise,  the child would have the ability to tamper the program.

Please also make sure the child's Windows account is associated with the child's profile online.

I probably did not explain myself correctly; the Laptop is used by she and myself.

She enters with her own user name and password and I enter with my own password as Administrator (two individuals/one laptop); does the Family Application must work either if she get into the Lap Top using her user name and password and if I get into the Laptop using my password as Administrator???

On the other way, she does not have my Email user name neither my password for the Family Application.

Some commente about Internet Explorer and Google Crome I mentioned???

Sorry to get back to you until now.

She has a "Standar Account"; I have the Administrator one.

What I realized is that there are certain delay in the alerts or activity; I do see the activity BUT 12 hrs late aproximatly; why is this???

In the other hand, there are few wb pages that are inclided to be blocked; but i go there (using hes windows account or my account  (never mind) and the pages ARE NOT BLOCKED!!!; why???? She is using Google Crome.

The clock, the Alerts, the visited pages (with its delay); all is working; BUT IS NOT BLOCKING MY SELECTED WEB PAGES!!!

mmmmhhhhhhh????actually the all "Categories" sites marked as a "blocked" is not working (religion, bets, violence,sex,etc...); I mean, I marked in red religion and bets; then I entered couple of religion and bets pages, and IT WAS NOT BLOCKED; at the same time pages like https://nyt.com (for example) is included to be blocked and it is not blocked (same for other specif web sites). 

To summ up:

OKs:

1.- The little dog shows up and he is seen when I turn on the equipment saying "...is being monitoring the activities..." 

2.- Time alerts are OK

3.- Total time used in the lap equipment is OK (the little dog with the clock in his leg is fine since I increase or reduce the time when he shows up at the set time) with no problem.

3.- Youtube videos seen are OK since are being reported.

NOT OKs:

4.- Web visited pages is not OK; it does not send an alert when I visit any web page.

5.- The all blocked function is not working (Categories, neither specific web page). Many thanks,

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall Norton Family on the PC to see if helps with the blocking issue?

Hi Katie:

1.- No, I have not; I will try it and let you know; how do I do it??? Just Uninstall and then "Download Family Norton" (very botton on the Family Online application??? (Right side of "About US"???) any prevention I must take care about it before do it??? Regarding my suscription, can I uninstall and Download any numbers of times???

2.- I loged in and now the All Time Web Activity is just showing one record!!!; I mean, at least 30 previous days disappeared (date I installed the application, are not been showed any more!!!); why??? could it be the same reason I must uninstall and download again??

When you follow the instructions below to reinstall Norton Family, the program will automatically delete the existing Norton Family from the device first.

Reinstalling Norton Family Client

  • Start your browser.
  • Connect to the Norton Family site (https://onlinefamily.norton.com)
  • Click on ‘Sign in’ button.
  • Enter your Norton Family account Email address and Password
  • Click ‘Sign In’
  • In the bottom left corner of the website (near the footer) Click on ‘Download Norton Family’  
  • In the next page loaded, Click on ‘Download’ button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and install the Norton Family client.

I've heard reinstalling the program corrects the blocking issue for some users.  I was hoping reinstalling Norton Family will resolve that issue for you too.

I just re-installed NF one hour ago and the blocking part is sitill NOT working; I see web activity, timming, yo tube videos reports, etcc. all is working except  the blocking part!!! I am quit upset with this since I see some users with exact same problem; please let me know what else I can do!!! For me it is a urgent issue.

Which option do you have for "How do you want to supervise Web activity" at Settings -> Web for the child's profile online?

Do you have the Web supervision turned On at Settings -> Web for the child's profile online?
