if i download a new version of Norton, is it best to remove the old version first or can I just click on download the new version when the download appears next time on my computer?
If you upgrade from within your Norton product, by clicking Support - New Version Check", you won't need to remove the old version.
Just follow the steps of the process.
Hope that helps.
Oh, I forgot...At the end, make sure that your Norton product is fully updated by running LiveUpdate a few
times, until no updates are available, in case rebooting as necessary.
Thanks for the help, but I don't want the 2014 version as I'm not sure it's been tested enough. I want the 2013 version as I now have the 2012 version (220.127.116.11).
How can I tell what version I will get?
If you do not want NIS 2014 (v21), then do not use the "New Version Check" option.
Here is the direct download link to NIS 2013 (v20)
Save this to your desktop. Then just right click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
If you use Identity Safe, it would be a good precaution to back up your ID Safe data - just in case.
Then follow the update steps provided by Rainbow_2.
Let us know how you do.
Only my personal opinion.
Go for v21 (2014). If you check the forums, there are not any show stopper problems with the latest version.
As long as you are not changing products, ie NIS to N360, you do not need to uninstall. You might want to , and you should do anyway, backup your Identity Safe data if you use that feature.
Holly, I agree with Peter, and I've said this before. Go with V 21. I have had zero problems with it, and if you do, you can always revert.
Best go with the latest protection features....
