ERROR CODE AFTER UPDATE: 3048-3

NISS  /win. xp

VER. 21.1.0.18

Just received the above version on last update & had to do a 'reboot' once installed ....once restarted,  I  got ''error code'' 3048-3 -Norton tried to 'fix' but couldn't - now what ?!    thanks so much

Be sure to read at the bottom of that page the link " What if this doesn't work" which leads to the Norton RnRT. 

Try also to run a manual LU and see what happens.

Is LU working??

Also, do you get a popup from Norton with this error or it happens when you are trying to open the main GUI??

Hi EDYTHE

Try restarting the computer a few times then check for Norton updates manually or right click the Norton icon in the task bar and click, run live updates, and then recheck until there are no more updates restarting the computer as requested.

That error is often related to a temporary issue with connecting to the LiveUpdate servers.

If you still see this error after a few hours, you can try the other solutions.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Hi - all seems to have calmed down once i did what the other helper suggested - i ran another live update, restarted the computer and all seems o.k. (shhhhsss  do tell this to my computer-)    LOL   thanks so much !

i did manually  run the LU and that seemed to fix it all !!!    and yes, LU is working...but what is ''gui'?   thanks so much for your help !  edythe

GUI stands for Graphical User Interface this is what you see when you are opening Norton.

oohhhhh o.k. in that case ...'no'   it happened when i was on a webpage (or maybe i had my email program opened now not sure) - but no this error pop-up was not while i was at the 'gui'.........   edythe
