I accidently downloaded this addon_esd.exe from a link on this forum that went straight

into the download and it gave me no warning so I ended up with this. Its in C:\Documents and settings\All users\Symantec temporary Files its only 96KB.Can I just delete it???Thanks. I did a silly thing and did not let it finish but it appears it downloaded that fast its all there. There are no problems but its just a piece of Norton that I did not intend to have,I think its the parental control Add on.

Could be. Where did you download it from?

Hi

addon_esd.exe, It's the Anti-spam and parental control addon pack, it did not fully download. 96kb sounds too small

Yes you  can delete the file from inside the temporary folder.

Hi stu

Its from this thread http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?board.id=nis_feedback&message.id=5953&query.id=9317#M5953 see Tony weiss's message 4/4 and This Page is the the one I clicked on and it throws you straight into an active down load,No warning. It reads as if it's a information page not a download.

Thanks Quads,will do.

Aha, I see.

It is just the direct download. No need to worry

This is in-correct because Anti-Spam is already integrated in to N.I.S. 2009; it would have been Parental Controls and Privacy Features.

Hi

I just grabbed the file name (addon_esd.exe) searched, found the website from Symatec

On the thread Mo said he downloaded it from was also about  NIS 2008 and 360 which also has the link to "Download free AntiSpam and Parental Control Add-on Pack for Norton Internet Security"   (for NIS 2008)

That's all,  Yes You are correct 2009 already has the Antispam component.  The Add-on pack for 2009 would be (or should be) a different download??
