Hi Moderators Can I split a 3 PC user license between 2 different country's?

Just curious,to see if this can solve a problem for me in another thread, and would it be best to buy the disc or the download for this?I actually would only use 2 licenses for the moment and I have 100 + days remaining on my current subscription of NIS2009.Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I'm no Moderator but sure why not? As long as the liocense is only used on 3 machines or less.

Hi Stu

Another thought was If I do this can I stagger the start date on each license,so if I installed one on my mums machine say this week would I be able to hold off till my subscription runs out then use the next license on my PC and still get the 365days?While mums is running from 100 days before.Mods any thoughts on this as well? Thanks again

Re: Hi Moderators Can I split a 3 PC user license between 2 different country's?

HI Mo,

You can't stagger the start date on each License until/unless you have different Product Key for each License. If you are using same Product Key for all the three Licenses, then the subscription will start on the very first day when you install the program on one of the computers and activate it. So, it is always recommended to install all the three licenses on the same day. You can also consult with Symantec Customer Services for further clarifications regarding this.

I confess to still being confused about this but whether installing a new purchased version on an installation that has time to run or not seems to depend on whether you buy the "renewal" from Symantec or whether you buy a physical copy from a supplier.

My impression is that it is only with a renewal subscription from Symantec that you can be sure the additonal time will be added to the unexpired time. If you install from a physical copy, I think it replaces so the best is to install that way at the last moment.

On your multiple PC question if you want an authoritive answer you have to read the EULA. Some questions may be better not asked .....

Thank you all for your replies,You all have given me some pointers to think on and research.I appreciate the help.In the end Hugh I will buy Norton for myself and won't worry to much about leftover days remaining when the time comes,I do like the idea of the hard copy being with me.Thanks again

So do I so when I get it on line I always use the SAVE option and not the RUN option -- although not all Norton download pages seem to offer this -- and apart from archiving on an external hard drive I burn to CD/DVD.
