How do I block an incoming ip address with norton 360?..its a fake java update !! Thanks
Hi, here are the answers to your questions..thanks for responding! ...best regards! Olivia* No* On Ebay site*Version 7 and Win7-64bit*No unwanted softwarer
Hi, Olivia. These type of popups are regarded as PUPS or PUAS and can usually be picked up by running a scan with Malwarebytes Free version only, not the real time version.
Run a full scan, which may take a while and if it finds anything else and quarantines it, leave it there.
It can't access your system once in quarantine, but best to leave it there, rather than deleting the file.
If your system behaves, you can delete it at a later date.
Hi, yes it is definitely a popup trying to mislead me. I downloaded adblock plus, however since the fake java popup did not show up in the past 24hours...i was wondering if i can add the ip address manually to my blocked list? Oh and I have Java 7 update 67. Best regards, Olivia
Hi, Olivia. Do you really need Java ? Most people don't, and it can be a source of security risks.
If you received a pop-up warning for Fake Java Update while you were surfing a website, chances are that the malware was blocked and there's nothing to remove.
However, If you do have any problems, it might be wise to try one of the free malware removal forums we recommend, where an expert will work one on one to clean your system, if required.
