There are a few behavioral changes the user should expect. This will help prevent panic and behavior that might affect the installation.
1. There are two reboots during the process.
2. The first reboot happens after a relatively short update -- you might not even notice the reboot request, so you will want to start looking for it if you haven't yet received this update.
3. After the first reboot, kick back and wait when the desktop reappears. Don't try to do much UNTIL the NIS icon appears in the notification area (far end of the toolbar). Once it appears, you can click on it, open the NIS console and launch the LiveUpdate -- if it hasn't already been done.
4. This seond update will download a much larger file - be patient. The installation has taken up to 4 or 5 minutes on one of my client computers. Just wait as long as necessary.
5. Again you will be asked to reboot (on XP machines; I don't believe there is a second reboot on Vista machines).
6. Getting back to desktop may take some extra time, again depending on your machine. Be patient. Once the NIS icon appears, you are ready to go.
