19.9.0.9/uistub.exe unspecified error

Using a Windows 7 64bit OS.

My firefox and ie browsers had their search engine and home page changed.

In addition, Norton was warning about the firewall being turned off.

 

I rebooted in safe mode and ran a full scan.

Rebooted in regular mode and couldn't run Norton.

Rebooted in safe mode and ran NPE and the Norton Removal Tool (ran that latter 3 times)

Then loaded NIS and got the error: "19.9.0.9/uistub.exe unspecified error"

 

Any other ideas of things I could try?

I have had this EXACT same issue. I won't even let me uninstall Norton to try and reinstall it. Please help!
