I use 2 computers on my router, i use proton VPN and not the norton one, and since yesterday everytime i use proton on one computer, the other says there is a hacker on my internet and switches to private and then proton cant connect. this is not acceptable, i running windows 10 till the end, one computer can use windows 11 it isnt on it yet, and they other is going to get linux. but still, my last week on windows 10 and now norton is making it impossible for me to use either computer with Proton. i do not use norton VPN as it isnt very fast and it isnt very private. i have made rules in the firewall which norton ignores. i am about to uninstall norton and go back to windorks defender cause i need to prepair for 11 on one computer and trying to download a linux port for the other that works sucks like this. is there a fix? or am i having to uninstall norton till i complete the switch?
Hello David. Right away, having two VPN’s installed on a system will cause immediate issues. Please allow me to ask some question if I may:
-Is your Norton 360 VPN set to load at Windows boot? I assume not but asking all the same. Disable it if its loading.
-Have you disabled the Norton VPN Service is system services, setting it to disabled and stopped? If not please do so and reboot. Recheck.
-Are you using WiFi or Ethernet connectivity? If Ethernet disable WiFi security in the Firewall general settings area, reboot, recheck.

i do not use nortons vpn. i would prefer just the antivirus like it used to be, and utilities like it used to be, but everyone now has bundled garbage. nortons vpn has always been disabled since i installed it 2 years ago. i have always used protonvpn just fine till what ever nortons update from yesterday or day before and when i boot second computer, norton popup come up saying hacker alert hacker alert and closing my internet connections. now i have gone through this confusing settings and stuffs that keeps getting more confusing as it gets updated more. i have disabled erything and norton still pops up hacker alert, bring up the local 10.0.0.0 ip which is the vpn i use and closes all port so neither computer can connect. nothing i do except uninstall one of the other works. if i do not connect to proton norton acts normal. i do not see a work around except uninstalling norton and finding an antivirus thats, just an antivirus. and a firewall thats, just a firewall. thats how most of us like our stuff. nortons vpn is slow and its not private. proton using ram servers and is fast enough to game on and defend againt the ddos peeps that like to ruin all the funs. so i dunno what else to do, this has been going on for 2 days now.
