why there are two NIS icons in my taskbar ?
I've restarted my PC several times but no help .

Yeah that's the reason I ditched Norton due to lousy programming and many users reported this bug 2 months ago and nothing has been done yet! yeah not a security risk but it is darn annoying and not professional

I've upgrated to NIS 21.1.1.7 and it fix !
Upgrading to 21.1.1.7 will not fix the problem (although it might have "fixed" it for you). I have 21.1.1.7 and the two icon problem happens for me (as it has for a while now). I'm going to set the aggressive boot time protection rather than normal to see if that works (and it should, according to the other thread linked above).
And I can also confirm that, after setting boot time protection to Aggressive, that I still have two icons after booting. The issue, however, always resolves if I sign out and log back into Windows 8.1 (which is how I've worked around it for some time now). Since I have all my tray icons showing all the time, changing individual settings isn't something I can do (turning off just one) as I don't want to manage all the icons separately.
It's not a big inconvenience since it only crops up from a reboot and my system is almost always in sleep.
