I had posted earlier about this. After a reboot, I thought the problem was solved. Then the thread was denoted "solved." And, everyone was happy.
Since that post, the problem reappeared. When the problem appears, I cannot perform a scan. That means my subscription is useless. Several weeks ago after my first posting regarding this, the problem continued to reappear intermittantly. Finally, I had a live Norton rep walk me through an uninstall and reinstall of Norton.
That worked for a while. Now it is back. Over the years I have had problems, viruses, etc. They were addressed and fixed. They were identified, isolated, and identified. Most of the time, when I have had problems, I could "google" it, find the problem fix, apply the fix myself and its done. Sometimes, I would go to a independent site and with advice, fix it. Or run a fix tool by some other brand.
This problem seems to NOT be addressed as fully. I still have not read anything that absolutedly identifies WHAT the problem is. Where is the source or the root of the problem and have not read of a fix..........unless..........
It is the Administrator/standard account user selection. I am only person that uses this computer. I am the admininstrator. It seems to me that Norton has a technical issue if I have to change my user account to standard for the product to work.
But, my point here is that I have done a reinstall with Norton assistance and the problem is back.
Tony, if you are reading this. Why is there not a very detailed technical writing somewhere describing EXACTLY what is causing this issue. Or, if there is.......where is it. It seems like it must be some conflict with windows 8. I have one of those hybrids with windows 8 and an available windows 7 desktop. I use the old familiar windows 7 desktop.
This issue has persisted for months and I am not aware of a detailed identification of the fix or a real solution. If I have missed it, please let me know.
Thanks.
