360 and norton

Can Norton 360 Everywhere be installed on an iPad? Safari cannot download it.

I have an iPad mini with iOS 6.0.1 and am trying to install Norton 360 Everywhere, but I keep getting error message, Safari cannot download this file. Help would be very welcome .... I'm at a loss.

DavidThomas,

Perhaps you should do some research before posting.  There is a product called Norton 360 Everywhere.  http://au.norton.com/360-everywhere/promo. It is now known as Norton 360 Multi Device  -  http://us.norton.com/norton-360-multi-device/.

You would be well advised to before you post a completely misleading statement in reply to a user question

now there a very  good point  i will be carfull  and start looking a round  in futer post

i like how this user said it

I get the same 'download failed' message when I try to download 360 multi. I bought the 360 everywhere at a Staples store, not online. Staples installed it on an Andoid tablet and  they now insist it  can be installed on my iPad. I live a hour away plus they want $20 to install.

Actually, I dont think David is entirely wrong. You cannot install applications by downloading using Safari. All programs (at least legit ones) have to be download via Apple appstore. So like any Ipad application you need to download the apps from Norton. If you enter Norton in the store search bar you will see a number of norton apps. What I imagine is that the key you have will function to activate the Norton Mobile Security. Worth a try.

Clive,

I was referring to this statement by DT88:

<< norton 360 cant run on the ipad   window 360 is olny for a window PC  >>

which is misleading in the context since there is a version of Norton 360 which is not restricted to Windows operating systems.

But I don't use Smartphones on data networks so as to how to use or install I leave to others.

Thanks for your response. I did get the norton app as well as opening a norton account, but when I try to use the app I get error message: no license available ...  so I can't sign on.

What do you mean by "as well as opening a norton account". Did you have a norton account before?

Your NOrton 360 everywhere have you already registered it to a Norton account?

If not that you are likely to get the following msg in IPAD

"Error. No license available. Check your NOrton Account for details."

So please check your Norton Account and do you see NOrton Everywhere with available installable licenses?

I opened a norton account thinking I could register the 360 Everywhere that i purchased at a store and installed by them on a previous device. I have the product key and it's supposed to be good for two more devices. No record of my purchase on norton account so  after much searching on net I got the norton app, but can't sign on.

I do not know. Normally when you install you register to an account. Go to the previous device and from the UI can you go to "Account" and see which account it is set up against. Otherwise call customer services or goonline and chat. If the product is not registered to an Account, then you cannot simply set up an account on the IPAD and expect it to know that elsewhere you have an unregistered N360. So logically this isnt going to work until you sort out your registratin of N360 everywhere.

When you say I got the "norton app" I do not know what app you are referring to. Norton Management? Norton for the IPAD?

Hi blizzard.

Sorry if I have got lost in this now somewhat lengthy thread, but I think you want to install the mobile part of Norton 360 Everywhere (or Multi Device) on your iPad and that you still have a valid licence.

I must also warn you that I do not have an iPad or iPhone so my recommendations are based on informed guesswork, but I hope they help.

If you go to the mobilesecurity.norton.com website and log in using the email address and password that you normally use for your Norton Account then you should be able to download, install and register Norton Mobile Security (for the iPad) which is the mobile component of Norton 360 Multi Device for use with iPads.

If the above does not work then try using your iPad you go to the app store and look for Norton Mobile Security you should see a free app.  You can try installing this and then registering it (if you get the option - I have already purchased this app - take it).  This should lead you to the mobilesecurity.norton.com website, which you should log in to using the email address and password you normally use for your Norton accounts.  This should allow you to register the product.

Finally if neither of the above work then I would suggest that you should contact the Norton Internet Chat link which can be reached here - then and click on "contact us" in the top right hand corner. After that fill in your details, click "get support" and if the list of answers on the left don't deal with the problem (as I don't think they will in your case) select "Live Chat" on the right.

Most people find the Chat staff helpful and they seem particularly good at sorting out licence issues.

Please come back if you need any more information, and do keep us informed of how you get on.

Good luck.

Thanks a million. I followed your steps and it worked! Very straight forward and easy after so much hair-pulling and wasting of time. Thanks again.

Delighted it worked blizzard.

Sorry that I took so long to find your post.    :-(

It was huwyngr who drew it to my attention...
