I'm running Norton 360 on my laptop witch Windows 7. Yesterday I couldn't connect to the Internet, I checked and my wi-fi connection is good. Then a Norton window came up saying there was a 8504,104 error. I looked at some old posts in this forum which linked to the Norton support solution, which begins with downloading software to uninstall the current version. I can't do this as I cannot connect to the Internet! I still have the Norton CD, can anyone advise me how to proceed?
I have exact the same problem since today!!. I have checked my other computer and saw some Norton files were missing (Engine64/uistub.exe and others). Copied them and tried again, now the message is (in Dutch: kan de toepassing niet correct starten (0xc000007b) which means such as: cannot start the application.
Also started the NPE executable and the result was: No Risks detected.
The norton files were updated 2.33 AM Western European Time, it looks some virus was executing this in the Norton files...
Thanks to everyone for their help, I have now fixed the error.
I downloaded Norton Power Eraser and copied it onto my laptop but it couldn't fix the problem. So then I downloaded the removal tool and copied onto my laptop, and removed the Norton software. As soon as I did this I got my internet connection back. I have now reinstalled Norton 360 from my disc and all is working fine.

Thanks for letting us know.
Just make sure you have run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
