There is no error message or anything because it just has a never ending network scan and never finishes and goes to the advanced scan therefore we cant have a smart scan report in order to resolve any other issues we might be facing.

@tkaay @Bob.tx.01 What is your product version of Norton installed? Smart scan completes my side as shown below. Windows 10 Pro current version and build, Norton Security Ultra current version.

It stays on this screen for hours without ever moving on to the next stage.

Hello @tkaay
Please post progress

My device is doing the exact same thing. I’ve not been able to complete a scan for more than a week because it’s doing this. Sticking on the network scan, not moving, going for HOURS.

what DIY have you tried?

Same issue here.

Any resolution?

thanks

I am having the same issue with the network scan. Windows 11 Home, V10.0.26100
Norton 360 Premium 1

In my case, security software on my router detected what it considered an aggressive network scan and banned the internal IP address of the computer running the scan. The new Norton seems to include either a new type or a more aggressive manner of scanning for open network ports.

To clear the problem, I had to log into my router, open the interface for the security application and unban the IP address of the computer which was performing the security scan.

Fortunately, I can log into my router from a different computer. If that weren’t possible, I might have tried changing the offending computer’s IP address to a different static address within the range normally assigned by my router via DHCP to circumvent the ban and clear the offending address.

I’m not sure yet what to do to avoid the problem. I just keep clearing the ban for now.

new Norton meaning = Norton 360 v25.2.9898 ?
