I have 4 devices - windows laptop, 2 android phones and an android samsung tablet.
Had to do factory reset on tablet - now I have '5 devices' using a licence.
I have ordered an additional laptop and will need to recover a licence.
The device list only shows the 4 above - so can't find the 'ghost' to remove it .
Any suggestions?

Thanks for posting back.
Can you clarify whether removing the device from the Devices page worked, or did you have to go to the My Subscriptions page?
Hi
Thanks for that - looks like that fixed it.

- New laptop just arrived - so good to go
You need to look in the My Subscriptions page in your Norton Account. That page always has the correct device activations information. The Devices page does have issues with correctly reporting devices status. Log into your Norton Account and click on the user icon at the top right. Then click on My Subscriptions. Look for your current subscription and click on Manage Licenses. Look for any unused device listed there and click on the trash can beside it. That will free up your activation for the new device.
Yes, if you delete the tablet that will force a fresh seat to open. One thing to check on your windows devies devices is for remote administration being set to on. The Android devices are not capable of that setting so naming is important. A factory reset won't remove the app license even though the app isn't there anymore. Your account and subscription will still see that license being used. Physically REMOVE the Norton app from the tablet and reboot it. Then just download and reinstall it, log into your account via the app and it should activate it against your account.
Cheers
Thanks for the response.
I had found the suggested option to remove a device - but as I suggested in my note there must be a ghost device as there are only the 4 I expected to find.
If I delete the tablet - will that reduce the number to 3? and then re-add the tablet?
Why does rebuilding a machine consume an extra licence?

Alan. This post is in the incorrect board. I will ask for it to be moved to the Norton 360 board where it will get the viewing it should. That being said follow this guide which should get you the solution you are asking for.
Edited: While looking at the devices assigned a license within your Norton account subscription the "ghost" device will most likely be one named something that you aren't familiar with having seen before.
Cheers
