A Better Defrag

I would like to see a true disk optimize.  One that uses the layout.ini file to truly optimize and speed up the HD.  Along with that would  be a boot time defrag for system files.  Customers would see a true difference in computer speed.  The other option with  defrag is being able to customized at what percent of defragmentation would be allowed and what percent to start defrag.

Thanks for doing a great job and your consideration.

That's a good idea, maybe norton has to add an defrag/cluster map too:D

honestly the current defrag is awful Not only is it not a great defrag, but you can adjust it by disk volume. I just added an SSD drive which would get trashed over time by defragging.  So now I can't use 360 at ALL for defragging since disk optimization is either on or off.

(Same problem with the backup - way too simple.)

It's growing annoying how they have so dumbed down this product that it's not customizable at all.

10 yr norton customoer -- not going to be anymore by christmas - if they dumb it down any more an abacus will work better.

Disk optimization is the only weakness of the Norton 360 package. I have had to look for another program to supplement the system for all of the computers  support for my family. Diskeeper has worked very well in combination with Norton 360.  I tryuly see a difference with usage of Diskepper along with Norton 360. Liscense the IntelliWrite Diskeeper technology. It will set Noton apart tremendously!!!!

Thanks to all of you for your comments. It is very interesting to get your feedback on this topic. The feedback that we’ve received in the past was that our optimize capability was just fine, but that Windows disk defrag works just fine (especially newer versions) and/or that more users are moving to SSD, where this isn’t an issue.

Regardless, it sounds like a bit more flexibility would be really helpful.

I am not a moron. I am not incapable of maintaining my own computer. I do NOT like Norton disabling my pre-installed disk defragmenter. It's not a good defragmenter and, needless to say, I will not be renewing my Norton subscription.

When all of my computers move to SSD then it will no longer be an issue. Currently only one out of three have that drive type.
