Hi,
I´ve got several times during this week a Norton Security popup window that says: "The computer "..." is attempting to access netsession_mac on your computer. Do you want to allow this connection?"
And I can choose "Block" or "Allow" from that popup window.
There´s a photo of that popup window attached.
What does this mean?
(And what I should do about it?)
Thanks a lot for the info and excellent program!!
Cheers, MinnA

Hi,
Thank you so much for your replies!
I do have both paid and trial versions of Adobe´s programs installed, so I guess this explains the popup windows.
Thanks a lot for the link, it explained the rest!
THANKS A LOT!! :)
Have a nice autumn!
Cheers, Minna
Akamai provides a content delivery network used by Symantec. If you have a Norton product installed, there is a good chance that connections to Akamai Technologies are resulting from LiveUpdate checking for, and retrieving updates.
One example of Akamai tech on your computer is for Adobe downloads. If you have any Adobe products that could be how it got there and it may be trying to update your products. See more information here.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply!
My message was refering to a Mac computer.
Unfortunately it’s still a bit unclear to me if this popup message may sometimes also occur when there is some kind of security threat.
I already heard from online support that the popup message is normal and that it doesn’t mean that the computer is hacked.
Cheers, Minna
I was not sure if the message was referring to a Mac computer or the computer's mac address?
The IP address mentioned is from Akamai technology. Maybe others here can enlighten us on why Akamai is on our computer. It seems to be used for allowing our computer to send information to other users. Maybe something to do with the way Win 10 shares updates with other computers????
