Hi! So, pretty much everyone knows that Symantec has acquired PC Tools to use their technology I think. The famous creators of Spyware Doctor. Norton Utilities was recently released, Symantec is using the ThreatExpert db and a dev. of TF gave information to questions here in the official Symantec Forums. As a follow up, I would like to ask some questions regarding this acquisition: 1. Will PC Tools and their products always be left alone? 2. What is Norton Utilities a variant of? Registry Mechanic and Desktop Maestro, just RM, or a combination? Is there something new in Norton Utilities that doesn’t exist in either RM or DM? 3. Will we see technologies like those of TF, Spyware Doctor, AntiVirus, Firewall plus and Browser Defender to name a few examples, implemented into the next version of Norton (2010 edition)? - And last, but not least a general question not directly related to the acquisition, but to simply get them all in one topic: 4. Will other browsers like Opera, Safari, Chrome, etc. get support in the next edition (2010) from all the browser related protection features of Norton? If you’re wondering why I don’t use paragraphs, it’s simply because it’s a pain in the *** with an unsupported browser like Opera - which I’m using. Thx for any information! ![]()
