Access Amazon, get alerts about d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net

Recently upgraded to NIS 2011 with Norton Online Family - all up to date - xp machine. When my son visits Amazon.com, he gets constant alerts that d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net is not allowed because it is a proxy site. The full URL varies each time, and is very long, starting off as http://d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net/pixeling-0.1-min.html?turn:uid=40&evt=99;opt=0;segments:243,… I do not know what this is. Is this something safe to allow? Is it possible he has gotten the PC infected with something that is trying to redirect his traffic to some nefarious site?

Yes, I have "Web Proxies" disabled.  Are you telling me Amazon is a web proxy?  I don't think this was a problem when I was on NIS2010 using the parental controls add-on pack.

I do not wish to enable proxies.  I realize I can allow this "d3l3lkinz3f56t.cloudfront.net" manually.

But this is the problem with Online Family: it forces me to manually allow a site when I cannot really identify what it is.  Certainly, none of your customers mean to block Amazon.com when they disallow web proxies.

Hi caa100,

You asked " Are you telling me Amazon is a web proxy? " ---- Nope,  Amazon is not a Web proxy (You can find the categories of Amazon at detail section of the Web Activity page).  As the alert indicated those URLs are from a proxy website.  The URLs are probably embedded in the code of the Amazon web page and they are from a proxy website.

Thanks,

Katie
