Accessibility setting turns off on restart

I am new to Norton 360 coming from another antivirus app. Every time my phone is restarted the accessibility setting for Norton 360 turns off and I have to turn it back on for the app to work correctly. I have made sure the battery optimisation is off for the Norton app and also it is allowed to run in the background. Is there anything else I can try otherwise I will have to cancel move back to the other app before my trial runs out. My phone is a Oneplus 8T running Android 13.1 if that helps.

Thanks for posting back.

Sorry I could not solve the issue. But as you have now found, manufacturers that use proprietary versions of the Android operating system often introduce unexpected results or incompatibilities with mainstream apps. So it is up to the manufacturer to issue an update to their OS to resolve the issue. Not sure how much it will help, but if you can add your story to the manufacturer's feedback system it might help make them focus on this issue.

After more investigation it appears that it is the OnePlus OS that is the issue as I have tested turning on the accessibility for other apps and it also turns off on a restart, so not a Norton issue. It appears after a lot of searching this is common with these phones and doesn’t appear to be any solution that fix it. Thanks for your help.

This post shows how it can be another app interfering with the Norton 360 app's Accessibility service.   https://community.norton.com/en/comment/8542632#comment-8542632

Although this was on a Samsung device, who also use proprietary Android versions, it shows that the issue is not always with the Norton App. If you are still interested in trying to get Norton to work for you, see my post after the one linked here for information about contacting the OnePlus manufacturer and also sending logs to Norton.

I have now cleared the cache and data, uninstalled and re-installed the app but it's still does the same. Seems like it must be something with the OnePlus OS. Guess I have to try a different antivirus app which is a shame as Norton seems really good other than that.

Did you uninstall the previous security app and restart your device before installing Norton?  Even if you did, try clearing the app data for Norton. Go into Android Settings - Apps. Scroll to the 360 app and clear the app cache and app Data. Then uninstall the 360 app and restart the device. Download and install 360 again from the Google Play Store.

Then test to see if things work properly.

One thing to note, I have seen issues with other OnePlus devices that are caused by changes made to the Android version made by the manufacturer. This may be what you are seeing here.

Hi peterweb
The android shortcut is already turned off.

Another user was seeing this issue and it turns out it was related to an Android shortcut feature. See this post .   https://community.norton.com/en/comment/8544824#comment-8544824
