Here's the situation:
Windows XP machine, wired network, D'link router, 5 accounts (logins) total on one computer, 3 accounts being monitored
First, my younger son Adam logs on to the computer, surfs the web and logs off without running out of time or going to any forbidden websites. I have his account setup to not allow access to social networking websites.
Later, my older son Brian logs on, opens IE8 (which has Facebook as his homepage) and he immediately gets the blocked website message. Brian's account allows social networking sites and in fact worked fine the day before. When I logged on to OnlineFamily, my son Adam's account shows that Facebook has been blocked and Brian's shows no activity.
I have checked my settings. Adam's account is linked only to Adam and Brian's account is linked only to Brian.
I tried updating Brian's House Rules... that didn't work.
I tried logging Adam's account on and off... that didn't work.
I restarted the computer and now Brian's account allows Facebook.
Why did this happen?
