Adding a new product key to my existing account?

I use Norton 360 Premium, For 10 Devices, 1 Year Subscription. My year is about up, so I bought another new one year product key from an online retailer. When I try to update it wants me to put in credit card information and sign up for auto pay. I don’t want to do that. How do I update my subscription with a product key I have already paid for without using a credit card?

As you can see from this forum auto pay has all kinds of problems. I don’t need to get into all that, just want to activate my Norton product for another year.

If you asked for what bjm_ suggested above, it sounds like the agent did not quite understand what you had asked. He was supposed to add the time from the new key to your existing subscription. It sounds like he had you activate the new subscription and said he was going to add the old subscription time to the new. If you say he did not add the old subscription time, then you just need to contact support again and explain what happened and ask the agent to combine the two subscriptions.

Guess, my reply going forward will be

You had to click on that picture, Zoom in, and even then it’s not real clear. That’s not reasonable.

But I’m just letting other users know that according to Norton Agents there is no way to use a product you already paid for without giving up your credit card information. That’s isn’t reasonable either.

Yes, I agree.  Sorry

Stop your subscription from automatically renewing

as I recall... hearing an occasional report "Support helped add new Key without payment information " and hearing mostly reports like yours.  Sorry

Since, you mention Office Depot
Credit Card or PayPal required

I have already paid for Norton, why do I have to provide the payment information?
You purchased a recurring subscription that renews annually after the initial term. To be able to renew your subscription after the initial term, we need your payment information. The accepted payment methods* may vary depending on the country.

You won't be charged until the subscription term you already paid for comes to the end, and before billing, you receive a notification email to alert you about the upcoming subscription renewal and its price.

Even though I already paid for this; it can’t be renewed online without giving credit card information.

I wasted a bunch of time dealing with a CHAT agent that had to authority to fix my problem and refused to escalate it to a supervisor. They also said my existing time on the account would be added to the new account. That didn’t happen.

After I put in the required credit card information, it doesn’t show up on my other PC’s. I will have to go in and reset each of them up with a new account.

After this expires I’ll find an alternative to Norton. I can’t believe LifeLock would require me to give credit card information that is not necessary. That’s a security breech.

Below are comments from the agent. I had no packing, and Office Depot has nothing on their website for this product indicating it requires a credit card for a product that is already paid for.

….

“Norton Agent: I am really sorry, But We are bounded with policy, Unfortunately, this type of Norton solution cannot be activated without enrolling online and adding your billing details. This information is needed to activate the subscription. “

“Norton Agent: I hope you will understand my limitations and policy.”

“Norton Agent: I am really sorry or the hassle caused to you but there is no further escalation available for this issue, It is clearly indicated on the packaging that to activate your recurring subscription, you have to enroll online and provide your payment information.”

“Norton Agent:  If you feel you have been deceived, we encourage you to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/”

Please contact Norton Support and ask Support to add the time from your new product key to your current subscription.

As I recall.  The last time I asked Support to add time from my new product key to my current term.  Support asked me to register my new key (Help -> Help Center -> Enter Product Key) and if I recall correctly...there was an option to skip payment information.  Hope I recall correctly.

Please post back progress.  Thanks
