Hello @clasher

Norton VPN currently supports app-based split tunneling but does not offer native URL-based split tunneling for excluding specific websites. Users can only exclude entire applications from the VPN tunnel, which means all traffic from those apps—including all websites visited within them—will bypass the secure connection.

To route specific websites without exposing the entire application, you must use a browser extension or plugin. This approach allows you to exclude the browser itself from the Norton VPN split tunnel (so it uses your regular internet connection) and then use the browser extension to selectively route only the desired websites through the VPN proxy.

Workarounds for Website-Specific Routing

• Browser Extensions : Install the Norton VPN browser extension. Configure Norton VPN to exclude the browser application entirely from split tunneling, then use the extension to whitelist or blacklist specific URLs.
• Alternative Browsers : Use one browser (e.g., Firefox) for general browsing without VPN protection and another (e.g., Chrome with the Norton extension) for secure traffic, effectively separating website access by application.
• Full VPN Disable : For occasional access to blocked or sensitive sites, you may need to temporarily disable the Norton VPN entirely rather than relying on split tunneling for individual URLs.

• Fix Internet connectivity problem with an app or a program after connecting to Norton VPN
• Fix problems when Split Tunnel in Norton VPN does not reroute network traffic of an application
• Split tunneling: What is it, how does it work, and is it secure?

• Install the extension: Install Norton VPN extension on your browser — covers installation via the Norton 360 app (Privacy → Secure VPN → Ad Blocking → Install) or directly from Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, or Firefox Add-ons.
• Enable Ad Blocker: Enable Ad Blocker in Norton VPN browser extension
• General VPN settings (including extension config): Configure settings in Norton VPN
• Full feature list: Features of Norton VPN

For Norton 360 specifically, the install path is: open Norton device security → Privacy → Secure VPN → Open → Ad Blocking tab → Install next to your browser. There is no separate “Norton 360 VPN extension” doc — it’s the same extension documented under the Norton VPN support section.
