Adobe acrobat not responding

Seems to me that concurrent with the new UI, adobe acrobat has stopped working properly for me on my windows 10 machine.

I get a spinning green circle on the screen, then a popup telling me adobe acrobat is not responding, with two choices, to stop the program, or to let it finish running. I have never seen something like this.

Anyone else experience this?

Hello. First, manually run live updates on your Norton install. Next, reset the Norton firewall and reboot the computer. Recheck if this persists, please post how your results are so we can follow up.

What do you mean by “reset the firewall”?
I had already checked live update, and ran “repair installation” on adobe acrobat. That opened a box telling me that windows was gathering required information, then the box closed and nothing more happened. I have tried a restart also.
Did full scan, no issues.
No updates available for Adobe acrobat either.

I do not want to download and reinstall acrobat, since the download includes mcafee and I don’t want to get confused by that.
Now it occurs to me (I had forgotten) I can open pdf’s using my browser. Just tried a couple and it works to view in my browser. Adobe is not the only game in town.
But it would be interesting to know why my adobe acrobat is acting up, this is the first time I’ve ever seen that.

As you are aware that Adobe tries to bundle McAfee, you can look for and uncheck that option to just get the product you want.

More download options

Sorry about the tardy reply. This is how to reset the firewall in version 24.xx

Thank you for the suggestions.
I have reset the firewall, and installed a new download of acrobat.
Depends on the pdf.
I open a pdf and after a few seconds the pointer turns into a hand, and I cannot click on anything.
Then sometimes after 30 seconds or so the hand turns back into a pointer, and it is normal operation.
But some pdf’s After 30 seconds the bar at top of the window tells me adobe not responding, and I see the green circle again and get the options to close the program, or let it run out.
Seems like acrobat needs an update? (I have checked and there is none available at this time)
