I was receiving an error message window in Utilities saying:
"Core product file(s) have been modified. Please run Smart Update or reinstall the product."
This has been a daily occurrence. Called support, was told issue was known, would be fixed within 2 days. Also received separate window with poor English syntax. Support rep told me that was not a Norton message. She did not know where it came from but not to worry. That made me worry about Norton as a firm I could trust. Wish I had saved a screen shot.
Jumping into this on-going thread -- same problem trying to install in my new Windows 10 (64 bit) laptop. Tried setting compatibility to Windows 7: no joy. Version 16.0.3.53; Engine 5.0.0.5
Also please advise what Norton product you are using and its version. As well as your default browser and operating system. The Norton Core router doesn't keep logs that we are able to see using the mobile apps or otherwise.
Cheers
Hello dadorfman. This thread concerns the Norton Core Router. When you say you had a "Core product file(s) have been modified. Please run Smart Update or reinstall the product" message was this a popup from within a web browser or on your computer screen and was it from Norton? It sounds as though you had a browser popup. Please clarify for us. Also, if you can, post a screenshot into your post here. This article tells how that is done.
Cheers
