Alerts for blocked sites

I'm a bit at a loss with this. Have just installed Norton Family on my children's devices and my eldest is getting loads of alerts saying stuff is blocked but I'm not seeing anything in the Activity section of the parent admin page.

Is this correct? If so, how, as a parent, am I supposed to see what they are doing and also allow them access to stuff?

Have just been round in circles with support on this and am still none the wiser. I can see some alerts came in earlier today. I deliberately visited a site on my daughter's iPad that was blocked. I asked for permission to access it, gave a reason. Where's that request gone? It's not in my activity page, it's not appearing as an alert on my phone.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong, or is this just another POS parental control app that I'm going to chalk down to experience and accept that they all seem about as bad as each other?

Thanks

Thanks for the update. Just so I'm understanding correctly, alerts are only ever tracked and sent to you (and thus to me) when the Norton Family App is running? That probably explains the bunching up of alerts being shared. In which case, this is not the solution for me. There's too many variables to make it reliably work. Thanks for confirming how it functions, I'll move on to looking at other solutions.

Hi @Fainbrog

Activities generated in iOS child app will be sent in batches as we collect the data for a certain period of time (in minutes) and send it to the server except for a few critical alerts which are sent immediately. Also, activities generated in child device can be sent to server only when the Norton Family app is launched and running. This is a platform limitation. So, please ensure that the child is using Norton Family browser.

When a website is blocked by VPN in the child's device, the URL of the blocked website can be viewed by long pressing the notification. This will give you more information on what website was blocked.

Regarding child getting multiple blocked alerts, Norton Family on iOS uses an on-device server-less VPN to monitor the child's online activities on the device. So, any website visits (even from other apps) will be monitored and based on the House rules that you have set, will be blocked or allowed. This also includes embedded URLs and redirect URLs that are accessed by any specific application in the background. And Alerts would be shown for such URLs as well. But, these embedded URLs would be filtered out and will not be sent to the parent as these would be mostly irrelevant.

Also, ensure that both Critical Notifications and Other Notifications are turned on under Child’s Profile > Parental App Notifications to get all the notifications such as Website Request in Parent app in a timely manner.
