In the 'manage backup sets' window for instance, the dialog box won't expand, you can't widen the fields and most of the items the program added on its own, is cut off at a point where you can't see the file name. If you hover over it in just the very specific tiny space, the whole line comes up briefly. That's fine if you are a real good speed reader with photographic memory, for the rest of us, it is useless. Especially after the first time you get lucky when you hover on it, then subsequent hovers produce nothing. 
Hovering should readily bring up the full line for viewing and it should remain there until either you click or move away. Better yet, would be for the window to be expandable with expandable fields, so you can see all the file names at once. Best of all would be both options available and working properly.
I'm not sure that the hover technique is supposed to work the way it does, but I find it extremely hard, like pushing a bucket of cement across the gravel hard, to get the full line of text to show up. It's like there is a little teeny weeny spot that works and you have to wander over the whole line back and forth and up and down to find it.
