Android Norton Password Manager Rooted Device False Positive

Issue abstract:

Rooted Device false alarm from Norton Password Manager.

Detailed description:

Norton Password Manager Android, V. 8.8.0, is reporting that my device is rooted. This is a false positive. Knox status, V. 2.5.4, is reporting 0x0 - Warranty valid. BusyBox Pro, Version 71, is reporting that the device is not rooted. Root Checker Basic, V. 6.5.3, states that Root access is not properly installed on this device.

Norton Password Manager Android, V. 8.8.0. Device is a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 512 MB.

OS details:

Android V. 13, kernel 4.19.113-27095354, SELinux for Android status is enforcing, SEPF_SM-G988U_12_001, Knox V. 3.9, Knox API level 36, Knox ML V. 1.3, DualDAR V. 1.5.0, HDM 2.0 - F. Device is a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 512 MB, software is up to date, G988USQSBHXJ3.

I think you problem is you android version is to old you possible need a much newer dont now what it support but possible 10 ore newer 8 is possible to old

even the latest upgrade android 7.0 version 15 Password manager does not fill Samsung A 20 phone !!

Has you change something on you Phone ass it is not normal root ore it ore something like that

PWM requires at least Android 5.0 to “function”, versions 7,8,9 are end of support and won’t get any additional updates to PWM but will work. Android version 10 or higher should function as advertised.

IMA that the Samsung A20 is capable of Android 11 but is no longer supported by Samsung. Your provider may choose to continue supporting it at their discretion.
