okay.  you could’ve said then when i posted a question 2-3 weeks ago about the same product here (instead of proudly marking it “solved” and now, apparently, deleting it).  it would’ve saved me some time to not come out here and post another problem.

Hi Colby,

Although Tony tried to help with your previous post, he isn't a Ghost expert. While there may be someone in this Community who could help find a solution for your current problem, as Ghost 8.3 is an Enterprise product, your odds of finding someone with the apropriate product knowledge would be improved on the other forum.

hi -

i just re-loaded my whole system again and want to ghost it before i gunk it up.  but ghost won't run.  i've got version 8.3, which is on a CD.  i'm trying to write the image to CD.  this worked just fine 3 weeks ago (after i got a CD driver firmware update -- which IS done this time).

i tell it to create the image, with spanning and high compression, and after a few seconds, i get this message:

"Ghost needs to create a new image span. Browse to select new drive & filename, or insert new disk."

i put in a new CD and i get this:

"Not enough room on device for image headers (519)"

i don't understand why it should be any different this time than 3 weeks ago?  i've changed no settings in ghost.  i'm using the same kind of CDs (basic, sony, 700 mb).  i've tried starting the image creation with a blank CD in the drive, and with the ghost CD still in the drive.  exactly the same problem each time.

any ideas??  i'd like to get this done, so i can gunk up my computer again!

thanks.

Unfortunately, Ghost 8.3 is an Enterprise product. If you would like to discuss Symantec enterprise products (like the product mentioned above) please visit https://forums.symantec.com/. These Norton forums are specifically for consumer product discussion. I apologize for this inconvenience.
