Another "PC at risk - Update now" warning

Hello. I have a problem similar to the one raised by Simon555 in his thread here:

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Your-browser-is-not-protected-from-intrusion-attempts-Cannot-Fix/td-p/785550

And there’s a similar new thread from Elektrolyte here: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Norton-Internet-Security-is-secure-system-tray-is-not/td-p/785920

I didn't press 'me too' on those as mine is different but there's clearly a link.

I was in the middle of doing a new letter in Word when the Microsoft shield with a white X on a red background appeared at the bottom right. A similar X appeared over the NIS icon.

The Microsoft message was from Windows Security Centre. Under Virus Protection, it said “Norton Internet Security reports that it might be out of date.

The NIS message was “ System Status – AT RISK” and “ Your virus and spyware definitions are not up to date” (at risk of infection etc.) but the Live Update showed the last update was “3 minutes ago.”

So I hit “FIX NOW”. This said “Live Update finished – Live Update has successfully completed. Your Norton product now has the latest updates.PC was up-to date.”

But then another Norton window appears “X FIX NOT COMPLETE”. “Protection Updates not fixed.”

So, is there a problem at your end, Norton? Help me please!
