Anti-Spam Client Integration

Hi,

I'm currently using NIS 2011 but can't find the list of email programs that are supported for anti-spam. What are the email clients supported by NIS 2011? Is Mozilla Thunderbird one of them?

timeoutmode,

Thanks Tim,

One more question please, does norton have a plan of supporting Thunderbird in the near future?

timeoutmode,

Hello timeoutmode,

I can't comment on future features or support, but feel free to check out the Norton Ideas Board and see if there's a suggestion there for it yet, and vote on it. If its not already there, then feel free to submit it - http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Product-Ideas/idb-p/NIS_Suggestions

You can use it right now if you wanted (without the Norton AntiSpam Toolbar integration). Norton AntiSpam works at the POP3 level, so setup a rule that moves everything with the [Norton AntiSpam] in the subject line to the junk folder. It takes a little configuration, but still works well.

EDIT:

Here's the Norton Product Idea for Thunderbird Integration - http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Product-Ideas/Norton-support-for-Thunderbird/idi-p/216120

Hi timeoutmode,

From the Norton Help Center:

Norton Internet Security supports Norton AntiSpam integration with the following email programs:

Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003/2007/2010

Outlook Express 6.0 or later

Windows Mail in Windows Vista

Note:

Norton Internet Security supports only the 32-bit version of Microsoft Outlook 2010.

Norton Internet Security does not add any options to the Windows Mail toolbar. However, it identifies the spam email messages and moves them into the Junk folder or the Norton AntiSpam folder.

You can manually create a Norton AntiSpam folder in Thunderbird and set up a message rule to move mail marked [Norton AntiSpam] in the Subject line to that folder, as explained here.  Or you can instead simply use the built-in Thunderbird Junk mail feature, which is also quite good.

thank you...

How funny!
Symantec is wanting what?
Supports Windows Mail tryna that users switch to Windows 7 Windows Vista?
Supports Outlook Express're wanting your customers to buy a Windows that is about to end sales!
Supports Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, 2007 2010 (32 bit) 's customers wanting to buy an e-mail (which is worth more than your own product).
And still does not support Web sites and e-mails with SLL, that!
Sincerely to be a customer of Symantec needs to have and use: In Windows 7
* Internet Explorer 8, 7.9 (32 bit) or Mozilla Firefox.
* Microsoft Office Outlook with (32 bit)
* Being a user's Yahoo e-mail address (for checking email attachments)

And the worst that the program free e-mail for Windows 7 Windows Live Mail
Microsoft puts the blame saying that "Windows Live Mail API is not why does not Spam" Come! Eset offers pluing to Windows Live Mail (which works really well)! Symantec admits she did not want to support!
Not like this!
