Anti Spam Not Working with Outlook 2016

Norton Anti Spam is not working with Microsoft Outlook 2016. I have Tried Turning it off , restarting , turning it on, restarting to no avail.

Is there another solution to get it working?

check the incoming mail port for your second email account. Norton antispam will only work with certain ports, not for example port 995 which is used by BT and office365

see https://support.norton.com/sp/en/in/home/current/solutions/v57920813_End...

it seems that antispam only works with port 110 as default

Hi @MartinC,

Sorry for the delay in response. I've sent you a private message via the forum requesting logs. Please check it when you get a chance. Thanks.

Hello floplot,

Sorry for my mistake, but the guys sent a PM were also newbies like me.

Anybody got anywhere with the OP's issue?

Thanks.

Hello MartinC

The @mention does not work for reg. Forum customers. You need to be a Guru or  a Symantec Employee.

Thanks.

@Sunil_GA, any progress with this ongoing issue?

Hello davidc100

Did you use the removal tool for Kaspersky before you installed your Norton product? You need to do that if you haven't done it already.

Thanks.

I have Norton Security and Outlook 365 and I get messages sent to my spam folder which I don't want sent there.  So my problem with spam is that Norton is too active, not too idle.  But at least I can drag the messages in my spam folder to my inbox folder.  I stopped using Kaspersky because it also, unbidden, put messages in the spam folder I did not want there, but also made it impossible to drag the innocent messages from the spam to inbox folders.

Same Norton Anti-Spam behaviour here... was working fine and then it seemed to stop working on 10 September.  Not sure whether that coincided with an Office or NS update?

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit version 1607 (14393.321), Outlook 2016 32-bit (16.0.7127.1026) and Norton Security 22.8.0.50.

Thank you Sunil. Finally an Adim chimes in.

Hi @hansontech & @EHC3,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I have sent you a private message via forums requesting more information. Please check it when you get a chance. Thanks.

I am just a Norton user. Not a dev or mod. I fix computers and remove malware as a second income. Look at this from a guru.It also depends upon how you have the settings setup in Outlook. Some people think they need Outlook to check their web based email. That is not true. But if you have your own domain and email then yes.

I too have the same issue...Windows 10 Pro, MS Office 365 Version16.0.7167.2060, Norton Security with all updates as well.

Antispam simply doesn't work. Will dig deeper and see if I can find the supposed solutions in these forums.

All Outlook does is get your email from your email provider such as Yahoo or Gmail. In today's day and age there is no need to use Outlook. Also Windows 10 has it's own email client. Spam get's filter first and foremost and your providers end. I am not fully sure that Norton is compatible with Outlook 2016. You could always try to uninstall and reinstall Norton. But honestly there is no need to use Outlook anymore. If you email is Yahoo just go to Yahoo.com. If it's Gmail go there. Yahoo is horrible for spam to begin with. Others have asked this. You can find more posts about it. Has yet to be addressed. Just like Microsoft Office is a thing of the past. Google Docs rules the world. There are also plenty of free office suites such as LibreOffice, OpenOffice and WPS.

Your reply is gibberish. You've done nothing to address his particular issue, then continue to post links that aren't applicable to his situation. Your best bet is if you don't know the answer, just move on.

If you do a search in the forums you will others with the same issue. .You never told me that this is your own domain/ own email. I do know Outlook has a spam filter system also.

Actually I have my own domain, website and email. So its not an "out there" email like gmail, although I have that too. So the comment on Yahoo, Outlook, or Gmail isn't relevant to this situation. The program integrates into the task bar but doesn't actually sort anything. When I tell it for the hundredth time a particular email is spam it will put it in the spam folder, and empty when that button is pushed. why won't it sort? Google does try to rule the world but not in this case. I have Office 365 and would like it to work with Norton Security. I don't have a fix other than changing programs?

I have Windows 10 Pro Anniversary Edition 64 bit, Norton Security with all live updates 22.0.8.50, I have the latest Outlook 2016 program as my email client. Norton Anti spam does not filter anything. I can go and tell it that the email is spam, it will then put it in the spam folder, but not on its own. I check the blocked list and it is very long but emails in there still arrive. I was also wondering if there is a file name length issue for very long email addresses that are spam, a carry over from earlier days of limited length file names? Thanks for any insight you might have.

What is your OS? What version of Norton Security are you using? Why do you say it is not working? Who is your email provider?
